In connection with the building of the JFK Airtrain, LIRR's Jamaica Station, which dates from 1913 and has landmark status, was completely renovated over the last few years. The Station Building was only slightly modified to accommodate the new setup, but the platforms and canopies have been completely replaced. The work was completed mostly on weekends. It's amazing that they managed to get the station fully operational by the Monday AM rush!
